1 of 400 MTS shelters delivered to the Middle East

Weatherhaven recently completed the delivery of 400 advanced military shelters to the Middle East, providing much accommodation infrastructure for deployed soldiers. The order comprised two different shelter sizes of our Modular Tentage System (MTS): 6m x 10m and 4m x 3m. The larger models were designed to comfortably house ten soldiers each, while the smaller shelters offered versatile space for additional operational needs. This delivery marks a significant logistical achievement and highlights Weatherhaven’s expertise in designing and delivering rapidly deployable shelter systems.

Overall, this delivery demonstrates Weatherhaven’s global capabilities in designing, manufacturing, and supplying mission-ready military infrastructure. The project showcased coordination across three regions: design validation and testing in Canada and the UK, production in the Middle East, and final deployment to end-users. By delivering 400 shelters tailored for soldier accommodation, Weatherhaven has strengthened its position as a leading provider of rapidly deployable solutions for military and humanitarian operations worldwide.

Frame assembly and test for the MTS 6m x 10m

Each shelter features a robust structural system consisting of powder-coated aluminum arches, ensuring both strength and resistance to harsh environmental conditions. These arches support a multilayer insulation system, which provides thermal protection, and an outer protective fabric that offers durability against wind, sand, and rain. Windows are installed along the length of each shelter for ventilation and natural light, while doors at both ends allow for convenient access and effective internal flow.

To meet operational requirements, Weatherhaven integrated lighting and power systems into the shelters. These systems were manufactured and certified in the UK to British standards, guaranteeing both safety and reliability. By combining British-certified electrical systems with locally manufactured components, the company ensured both compliance with international standards and efficient regional production. This hybrid supply chain model illustrates Weatherhaven’s flexibility and dedication to high-quality deliverables.

Parts of the shelters were manufactured in Weatherhaven’s Middle East facility, where production capacity and proximity allowed rapid delivery to the end-users. Every unit was carefully packaged into modular boxes, enabling efficient transportation through military storage and logistics systems. These packages were clearly marked and standardised, ensuring seamless inventory handling, deployment, and redeployment in the field. Such efficiency helps armed forces reduce downtime and maximize readiness.

Further Quality Assurance testing of the 6m x 10m MTS

The interiors were purpose-built with soldiers’ needs in mind, incorporating a tough vinyl “bathtub” style floor. This flooring system prevents ingress of dust, water, and pests, ensuring a clean and safe living environment in challenging field conditions. The durable and easy-to-clean design ensures the shelters remain functional during extended operations. This detail demonstrates Weatherhaven’s focus on durability, hygiene, and soldier comfort in extreme environments.

Quality assurance was central to this program. All shelters underwent extensive testing in Canada and the UK before deployment. This included environmental stress tests, durability trials, and performance verification to ensure the shelters could withstand desert climates and long-term operational demands. By conducting testing in multiple facilities, Weatherhaven maintained its reputation for uncompromising standards and reliability, reassuring clients that every product delivered performs as intended.
