Weatherhaven successfully demonstrated the next generation Canadian Forces Headquarter Shelter System (HQSS) to selected UK MOD authorised staff at DVD2018. Significantly, this was the first time outside of North America that some of the components of the HQSS modular shelter components have been demonstrated to an international audience. On display were three of the HQSS shelter modules, flooring system, lighting system, and the climate control features, all of which have been developed by Weatherhaven specifically for the Canadian Forces as the next generation of military shelter system.
Also on stand SP17 Weatherhaven exhibited an example of one of our Mobile Expandable Container Configuration (MECC) ISO containers, with over 3000 of these units in service globally the MECC has become the backbone for military deployable technical infrastructure.
At the far end of the DVD exhibition space was the DE&S Generic Base Architecture (GBA) team who were on hand to inform visitors of the great work the team is doing in trying to standardise camp components and interfaces to enhance UK and allied operations. Weatherhaven has been involved in this work with DE&S for some time now.
