Weatherhaven successfully delivered a 100% deployable helicopter-support forward operating base to the Middle East, capable of sustaining three helicopters, housing 50 personnel, and being fully transportable by C-130 airlift. The delivery included all required systems for accommodation, life support, aircraft maintenance, water supply, and mission planning. By integrating modular shelters, containerised services, and specialised aircraft facilities, the project ensured operational readiness in a challenging environment. The base was fully deployable, rapidly constructed, and tailored to the unique demands of military aviation operations in remote conditions.
The deployment’s success hinged on the seamless integration of diverse camp and aviation systems. Weatherhaven’s design ensured each element—from living quarters to aircraft hangars—functioned as part of a cohesive infrastructure. Power generation, water storage, and mission facilities were interlinked to maintain continuous operations. Personnel enjoyed reliable life-support services, while helicopter crews had immediate access to maintenance and planning spaces. This holistic approach maximised efficiency, reduced downtime, and supported sustained operational tempo in a demanding environment.

Accommodation Using Series 4 Soft Shelters
For housing 50 soldiers, Weatherhaven utilised its Series 4 soft shelter system. These shelters provided durable, climate-controlled living quarters capable of withstanding harsh desert conditions. Rapidly deployable and modular, the Series 4 allowed for efficient assembly and configuration, creating comfortable sleeping areas and communal spaces. The design supported both security and morale, offering insulation, weather resistance, and adaptable layouts. This ensured personnel had safe, functional, and reliable accommodation while operating in remote, high-stress environments far from established infrastructure.

Comprehensive Personnel Life Support Facilities
The camp featured a MECC expandable shelter configured as a fully functional kitchen, alongside containerised toilets, showers, and laundry units. These facilities ensured that essential hygiene and meal services were consistently available, even in austere conditions. The kitchen could prepare large-scale meals, while sanitation units were designed for high throughput with minimal maintenance. By integrating these life-support systems within the camp layout, Weatherhaven sustained troop health, improved morale, and reduced logistical strain during prolonged operations in the field.

Aircraft Support Infrastructure for Three Helicopters
Weatherhaven provided three aircraft hangars, integrated fuel systems, taxiway flooring, and supporting power and lighting solutions. This ensured helicopter operations could continue day and night, regardless of environmental challenges. Hangars protected aircraft from sand, heat, and wind, while fuel and taxi systems streamlined refuelling and movement. Power generation units and lighting systems enhanced safety and operational tempo. Together, these facilities created a reliable aviation hub capable of supporting intensive sortie schedules in a remote forward location.

Water and Power Distribution Systems
Clean, grey, and black water tanks were installed to supply and manage water throughout the camp. Clean water tanks ensured a steady supply for drinking, cooking, and washing, while greywater and blackwater systems provided safe disposal and treatment of waste. Alongside power generation with built in automatic redundancy these services sustained both the accommodation and aircraft maintenance operations. Weatherhaven’s power and water management design reduced environmental impact and ensured compliance with operational hygiene standards in the challenging Middle Eastern operational setting.

MECC Shelter Workshops and Mission Planning Rooms
The forward operating base included three of our MECC expanding ISO shelters configured as dedicated aircraft tool store, operations and mission planning rooms. This allowed technical teams to prepare in a controlled environment, while aircrew could conduct detailed operational briefings and debriefings. Equipped with power, lighting, and communication systems, the shelter served as the operational nerve centre for the base. Its dual-purpose design improved efficiency by colocating engineering and planning functions, streamlining the workflow from maintenance to mission execution.
